One Mill School helps you get unstuck, clarify your vision, and make progress.
Being a creative business owner—especially right now — can be overwhelming and lonely. You're facing a new and unfamiliar landscape in art, business, and making. And these new opportunities and challenges require a course re-charting, vision refinement, and nourishing of strength and resilience.
Sometimes it seems the only way forward is spending hours searching YouTube, confusing advice from peers, or wasting money on glitzy gurus who want you to do it their way.
We can help.
We offer a step-by-step path to support your creative resilience and thriving in this new economy. Of course, no one can tell you what to do in this time. Advice is worth less than ever. But guidance, inspiration, collaboration, and tools that enable your own plans and insights — that's transformative.
One Mill School is a comprehensive training and community program for creative small business owners.
"My favorite part was hearing from others in the group and listening to their experiences -- it provides learning and a sense of comfort. You are reminded that you aren't alone! This program showed me that dreaming big is an essential part of creating tangible goals and that small, micro-actions can have a big impact."

Who We Are For
We serve creative small business owners. One Mill School might be a good fit for you if you have created a small business and a product from your art or practice. Many folks we serve are makers or have a maker ethos. Others have a practice, art, or skill that is less concrete and have created a course or service from it. Our community includes an artist who makes stationery and bandanas, a ceramicist, a consultant on diversity issues, and a horse whisperer (to give you a sense of the range!) We generally don't work with freelancers, brick-and-mortar businesses, or folks who run a business without a practice or art that underlies it.
If you want an honest opinion of whether we're a fit, send us an email and we'll get right back to you.
